Valor

The Legacy of LUXEAR

Thomas walked away from his role as head of design at a luxury
watch house, driven by a quiet frustration: the world’s finest timepieces were
celebrated as ‘wearable art,’ but high-end in-ears monitors for experiencing
music, one of life’s greatest pleasures-were reduced to cold specs and flashy
logos. ‘Sound deserves the same reverence as a hand-engraved dial,’ he wonder.

The thought sparked a three-year odyssey. Thomas traveled to
Italy to source vegetable-tanned calfskin for the IEM easings, each piece
hand-stitched by leatherworker’s studio. To Japan, where he collaborated with a
70-year-old artisan to craft ceramic sound chambers, that preserved the warmth
of acoustic music like no plastic could. To German, where he worked with a
precision engineer to develop a 10mm driver so delicate, it took 12hours to
calibrate by hand.

CraftingIn-Ears as Timeless Art

For two years, Thomas existed only as a
rumor in elite music circles: a few composers, singers, and art collectors
heard early samples, whispering about ‘sound that feels like silk on the ears.’

Valor was Thomas’s first officially
launched in-ear monitor, and he also founded the LUXEAR at the same time.

Today, LUXEAR still makes only 5,000 pairs
a year. Every in-ear is touched by 9 artisans over 20 days; every leather
casing is broken in by hand. For LUXEAR, in-ears aren’t tech. They’re
heirlooms: something to pass down, like a vintage watch or a well-loved book,
because great sound, like great art, should stand the test of time.

Voice Partner

David is an electronics engineer who
started assembling audio equipment at the age of 8. His love for electronic
products reached an obsessive level. He joined LUXEAR as a lead sound engineer.
LUXEAR thus shone brightly.
